Ján Šinkovic - Partner
Ján Šinkovic advises clients primarily in the area of dispute resolution, but also in acquisitions, transfers and leases of real estates. Ján provides a highly professional assistance and represents Slovak as well as foreign clients in many important court proceedings before general courts of the Slovak Republic, arbitration courts, the Constitutional Court of the Slovak Republic, the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, and last but not least before the disciplinary bodies regulating activity of various legal professions (notaries, judges).
Ján received his law degree from the Law Faculty of Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia in 1998. In the same year he joined the Law Firm ČERNEJOVÁ & HRBEK and after having been admitted to the Slovak Bar Association in 2001, Ján has been associated with ČERNEJOVÁ & HRBEK, first as an associated lawyer and since 2008 as a partner. In 2016 he was admitted to the Arbitration Court of the Slovak Bar Association.
Ján has a considerable practice in litigation of various claims in Slovak courts, including civil law matters (such as bank notes claims, consumer protection claims, protection of personality, disputes related to real estate, co-ownership disputes), commercial law matters (disputes between shareholders, between contracting parties, claims for damages), public procurement disputes, and many others.
Ján is an author of the Slovak chapter in the Lovells 2010 publication At what cost? A Lovells multi jurisdictional guide to litigation costs. Jan actively works also as a member of the civil law working team in the Slovak Bar Association.
